Pernille Snedker has repurposed an old marbling technique giving Nordic wood a supernatural and colorful pattern. Created slowly drop by drop on a water surface, the pattern reflects and magnifies the natural ornamentation in the wood itself.

For her solo exhibition, Pernille aims to challenge how we look at and experience the wooden surfaces around us.

It will be playful, colorful and a feast for the eye.

Pernille Snedker Hansen aims to challenge how we look at and experience the surfaces around us. She founded Snedker Studio, a contemporary design studio based in Copenhagen, and specialises in handcrafted surfaces and commissioned artworks.
In collaboration with natural phenomenon and inspired by traditional craft techniques, Pernille Snedker Hansen transform interiors into immersive artworks.
A culmination of years of experimentation and development, Pernille has re-purposed the traditional craft of marbling. She works directly with its fluid nature to enhance material and create form. Created one drop at the time and resembling a tree growth rings, Pernilles technique responds to naturally occurring patterns.
Pernille Snedker Hansen has a BA in Textile Design from Designskolen Kolding (DK), and a MA in Narrative Environments from Central Saints Martins in London (UK). She also studied on exchange at Designacademy Eindhoven (NL). She has exhibited her work locally and internationally, such as part of Charlottenborg Kunsthal, A. Petersens Gallery & MindCraft.

Her clients and collaborations include, Mastercard, actor Robert Downey Jr., Hard Rock Hotel, Sneakers n Stuff & Gensler Architects.
