Lise Eggers has worked with glass for 31 years. Since 1994, she has been based in Rønne on Bornholm, from which she has also trained, taught and worked as a glass blower at Bülow Glas and Baltic Sea Glass.
She received the Finn Lynggaard Foundation's scholarship award for a master class at Northlands Creative in Scotland, with the internationally acclaimed glass artist Silvia Levenson.
This exhibition shows sculptural works in glass, all inspired by elements from the natural world and through material investigations, are worked into abstract objects in hot worked, kilncasted and blown glass. Among the works are a series of new cast pieces “Leaf collages” inspired by lines and structures in leaves and also works from the series “Optical sequences” investigating the optical qualities of the glass.
Lise Eggers works with the optical and sculptural potential of the glass. Her work are based on solid objects, which she molds and subsequently works with sanding. With the course in Scotland, she hopes to gain new knowledge about the technique of 'lost wax', oven casting and at the same time develop her artistic language in relation to space, scale and narrative.
