Lise Eggers has worked with glass for 34 years. Since 1994 she has been based at Bornholm, where she also trained and worked as a glass blower at. She worked with Gudhjem Glasrøgeri, Bülow Glas and Baltic Sea Glass. Today, Lise is part of the workshop community Luftkraft glass studio in Copenhagen.
In 2018, she received the Finn Lynggaard Foundation grant of DKK 15,000 DKR, for a master class at Northlands Creative Glass with the internationally acclaimed glass artist Silvia Levenson.
Lise Eggers works especially with the materials optical and sculptural possibilities. Her works is based on solid objects. These artefacts are cast and subsequently cold worked. During her stay in Scotland she hopes to gain new knowledge about the technique of 'lost wax casting', oven casting - and at the same time develop her artistic language in relation to space, scale and narrative.
This exhibition - "Nature Elements", shows the artists latest works , which are inspired by and relate to elements from the natural world These are processed into abstract objects in both mouth blown and cast glass. Among the exhibited works is a new series of cast glass - "Leaf collages" - these examines the surfaces, lines and structures of leaves. The exhibition also includes works from the series "Optical Progress and Sequences" in which the optical qualities of the glass are explored.
